If you would like to be a part of this event as a vendor please fill out the form below or email Casey@TobaccoRoadHD.com to find out more. 

Vendor spots are $25 for the day and include a 10X10 space. If you need more space please reach out to Casey to confirm the availability.

Power will not be supplied. If you require power you must request at least a week before the day of the event. 

Vendors who do not SELL physical items are not permitted at this time. Groups that are giving out information, selling raffle tickets, or requesting donation are not allowed as vendors at this event. 

Competition Rules

Registering to cook gets you 60 lbs. of uncooked meat per cook/team.

Teams may have up to 5 members. 

Cooks will be required to check in at the cooks meeting on Friday April 26th at 5 PM to get situated in the parking lot for overnight cooking. Following the meeting cooks/teams will be provided their allotted amount of meat. Members of the team are allowed to leave the dealership overnight, however, the meat must remain on site the entire time. 

If you do not serve all of the food you cook it will be yours to take home with you after the competition. 

Participant Eligibility:

  • The competition is open to amateur and professional cooks aged 18 and above.
  • Each team must consist of a minimum of 1 member and a maximum of 5 members.
  • All team members must be registered prior to the competition.

Entry Requirements:

  • Each team must cook all of the meat provided.
  • Pork butt must be raw and uncooked at the beginning of the competition.
  • Teams are responsible for providing their own seasoning and cooking equipment.
  • No pre-marinated or pre-cooked pork butts are allowed.

Cooking Guidelines:

  • Cooking methods are open to interpretation, including smoking, grilling, roasting, or any combination thereof.
  • Teams may use any type of smoker, grill, or cooking apparatus they prefer.
  • Cooking temperatures must comply with food safety regulations. Pork butt must reach an internal temperature of at least 195°F (90°C) for tender and flavorful results.

Seasoning and Flavoring:

  • Teams have creative freedom in seasoning and flavoring their pork butt.
  • Commercial rubs, homemade spice blends, sauces, and marinades are all permitted.
  • All seasoning and flavoring ingredients must be disclosed to the judges upon request.

Presentation:

  • Pork butt will be presented to the judges as they are served to the public (likely, shredded)
  • Garnishes and decorations are allowed for presentation purposes only and will not be judged.
  • Teams are encouraged to present their pork butt in an aesthetically pleasing manner.

Judging Process:

  • A panel of qualified judges will conduct blind taste tests of the pork butt entries.
  • Judges will not have knowledge of the teams responsible for each entry to ensure fairness.
  • Scores from all judges will be tallied to determine the winners.

Judging Criteria:

  • Pork butt entries will be judged based on taste, tenderness, and overall appearance.
  • Judges will evaluate the flavor profile, smoke ring, bark, moisture level, and tenderness of the pork butt.
  • Each of the criterion will be scored and the highest scores will win the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes 
  • People's choice will be voted on by the general public who purchase a wrist band to taste each of the team's creations.

Disqualifications:

  • Any team found in violation of the rules or engaging in unsportsmanlike conduct will be subject to disqualification.
  • Disqualified teams will forfeit any entry fees and prizes.

Waiver of Liability: Buy registering to cook in this event you agree to the following waiver:

  • Assumption of Risk: I understand and acknowledge that participation in the Event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to, burns, cuts, and other injuries associated with cooking activities and event participation.

  • Release of Liability: In consideration of being allowed to participate in the Event, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Tobacco Road Harley-Davidson, its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, and sponsors from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me or any property belonging to me while participating in the Event.

  • Indemnification: I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tobacco Road Harley-Davidson, its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, and sponsors from any and all liabilities or claims made by other individuals or entities as a result of my actions or participation in the Event.

  • Medical Treatment: In the event of any injury or medical emergency that may occur during my participation in the Event, I authorize Event organizers to seek medical treatment on my behalf and agree to be responsible for any associated medical expenses.

  • Photography and Publicity: I grant Tobacco Road Harley-Davidson the right to use photographs, videos, or other media taken during the Event for promotional purposes without compensation.

  • Compliance with Rules: I agree to comply with all rules, regulations, and instructions provided by Event organizers and officials throughout the duration of the Event.

Changes and Amendments:

  • The competition organizers reserve the right to make changes to the rules or format of the competition as necessary. Any changes will be communicated to participants in advance.
